Food Connoiseurs @ Cheebo

Infused with sunny shades of lush tangerine
and bright yellow, the scenery lets the
sunshine in a diner's heart rise the moment
he steps inside this warm-color-soaked
neighborhood dining joint. Nestled at the
corner where Sunset Blvd. meets Sierra
Bonita Ave, this casual CafĂ©’s eye-catching
exterior -- white polka-dots meet a bold
orange backdrop -- matches the spirits-
lifting interior. Embellished with kinky light
fixtures -- which resemble outsized
rectangular amber beads that dangle from
long strings -- the spacious interior is soaked
with a gamut of glorious colors that are
reminiscent of Hollywood’s one-of-a-kind

sunset scenarios.
Long, white-draped communal tables invite
large groups and gatherings to wine and dine
at length surrounded by colorful photographs
picturing Tinseltown’s icons of the golden era
in a quirky manner. At some days paper-
spread-n-crayon-equipped tables encourage
patrons to give their creativity vein full scope.
Giant clusters of freshly cut sunflowers are
sugar-sweet and literally the icing on the cake.
The bright main dining room plays host to
regulars -- who seem to know the menu by
heart -- it daily accommodates business types
who kick back during their lunch break, and
also attracts foodies with super fresh, organic
farm-to-table fare. LoCals make this smart joint
swing even into the night. A friendly, casual
vibe is being maintained by polite and attentive
servers.
Although the menu doesn’t mention “celeb
spotting on the side", VIPs come and go and
some even love to discuss their favorite pizza
toppings with fellow diners.

Sunny side up -- this is what the inventive
breakfast menu is all about – but not limited to.
All sorts of egg dishes pamper vegetarian as
well as meat loving palates dishing up heaps

of proteins attractively arranged, featuring
elaborate sides like quinoa, polenta or house-

made sausage. The salad list brims over with
healthy, organic ingredients: composed with
an inarguable flair for flavor, all of them feature,
like the restaurant itself, countless small
intelligent details. For carb-a-phobics the
caring service will cut out the house-made
bread. Veggies are all local grown and meats

hormone-free and free-range. Cedar wood
grilled or in-house smoked salmon is a
mouth-
watering appetizer coming along with
seasonal Bruschetta or home-marinated olives.

Other menu options -- made of mostly organic
ingredients -- include pizzas, pastas, hearty
sandwiches, and Italian-inspired grilled meats
and seafood. To-live-for Pizzas are three foot-
long, thin-crusted, rectangular pies, amply
topped with gourmet goodies (at Cheebo they

call it a slab). Bite into a crispy crust and
munch your way through to the soft and chewy
part.
